How you will make a difference

You will help us to ‘finance change and to change finance’, by shaping and stewarding our brand as a compass for decision-making, a promise to society, and a driver of sustainable growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), you ensure that every brand expression and marketing initiative reflects our values, identity, and impact.

 

Next to steering a groupwide marketing approach to maximize impact and alignment across the organization, you will:

  • Provide direct hierarchical leadership, coordination, and support to the Brand & Marketing leads and Local Marketing Managers, while maintaining strong stakeholder management with our branches.
  • Steer and manage the bank's brand reputation, ensuring that our commercial messaging, internal culture, and societal impact are fully aligned.
  • Act as the guardian of our brand promise, balancing ambitious commercial growth objectives with authenticity, transparency, and mission integrity.
  • Champion brand activism by developing innovative campaigns and initiatives that mobilise customers, communities, and partners around key impact topics.
  • Orchestrate and execute marketing activities across channels, client segments, and markets to drive targeted customer acquisition and long-term customer value.
  • Build modern brand and marketing capabilities, fostering innovation and driving the adoption of new technologies and tools to improve scalability and instrument effectiveness.
  • Actively support cross-functional teams and dedicated, outcome-focused business units to enable them to work effectively and achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with Corporate Communications, Impact & Economics, and other key stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging, proactive reputation management, and impact amplification.
  • Coach, mentor, and inspire team members to support their personal development, driving high performance with a focus on customer centricity and data-driven decisions.

Furthermore, it is desirable that you will have:

  • Extensive experience in strategic brand management and marketing leadership, ideally within an international or multi-market environment.
  • A proven track record in driving targeted commercial growth, customer acquisition, and customer engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience with professional people management, coaching, and developing high-performing, customer-centric teams.
  • Mission-driven or impact-focused experience, showing a strong alignment with sustainability and ethical values.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with practice in working successfully across diverse organizational layers, branches, and functional experts.
  • A strong interest and affinity with modern digital trends, marketing technologies, data-driven decision-making, and tools that improve effectiveness.
  • Marketing innovativeness and creativity, with a passion for distinctive, credible impact storytelling.
  • Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a strong plus.

 

Your future colleagues

You will be reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and cooperate closely with Country Managing Directors, Group Head of Corporate Communications, the Head of Design, and various product and technical specialists.

 

The Brand & Marketing leadership team currently consists of 6 direct reports, including the Lead Brand & Acquisition, Lead Customer Value Marketing, Strategy Marketeer, and 3 Local Marketing Managers. Together, you form a dedicated community working to consistently deliver engaging client experiences.

  • an annual salary between €119.679 and €164.560 based on a 36-hour workweek
  • an attractive pension plan

  • six weeks of paid annual leave, with the option to buy up to two more weeks in additional leave
  • an option to swap bank holidays for other days (with some conditions) if you celebrate different holidays
