Currently, we’re strengthening our Corporate Strategy capability. Due to transformation we would like to bring on board a Senior Strategy Consultant for a permanent contract.

 

How you will make a difference

  • You will help us to ‘change finance to finance change’ by shaping the Group and Commercial strategy that defines the bank’s long-term direction and translating ambition into clear strategic priorities.
  • You will bring an outside-in perspective by using market developments, peer benchmarks, client trends and broader industry dynamics to inform and challenge strategic choices.
  • You will lead fact-based strategic analyses on topics such as business model evolution, growth, efficiency, portfolio choices, operating model development and Business Lending.
  • You will prepare clear strategic options and recommendations for the Executive Board and senior leadership to support informed choices.
  • You will connect strategy to implementation and work with relevant functions to ensure priorities are actionable, aligned and embedded across the Group.
  • You will communicate strategic priorities and progress clearly and collaborate closely with the CCO and CFO organisations, Strategy Execution, Legal, Communications and Risk.

To be successful in this role, you will:

 

  • Have at least 8 years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, in strategy-related roles.
  • Bring strong strategy experience, ideally including 5–8 years in a top-tier strategy consulting firm.
  • Have solid expertise in business lending or corporate banking, with a strong understanding of the commercial banking value chain.
  • Bring experience working in the Dutch and/or broader European banking sector, with a good understanding of its market dynamics and regulatory context.
  • Demonstrate broad strategic understanding of banking, including how lending, funding, capital, risk and impact interact in shaping business choices and performance.
  • Be able to lead complex strategic analyses, structure ambiguous topics, and define clear strategic frames focused on long-term value and impact.
  • Be comfortable challenging the status quo and translating complex issues into clear choices, practical recommendations and concrete follow-through.
  • Work in a customer-oriented and collaborative way, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the Group and communicating clearly and effectively.
  • Enjoy working on strategic topics that combine analytical depth with practical delivery in a mission-driven environment.
  • Have professional proficiency in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a strong plus

 

 

Your future colleagues

You will report directly to the Group Director Corporate Development and collaborate closely with the Executive Board and a broad range of stakeholders across the Group, including Controlling, Group Directors, country organisations, proposition developers, value streams, and the Risk, Communications and Strategy Execution teams.

 

The Corporate Strategy team consists of six strategy consultants with diverse profiles and experience in organizational and commercial strategy. The broader Corporate Development team includes a portfolio transformation team.

  • an annual salary between € 97.999 and €134.742 based on a 36-hour workweek
