Who we are:
Triodos Bank is an award-winning organisation and one of Europe’s leading sustainable banks, whose mission is to make money work for positive social, environmental, and cultural change. We offer a wide range of banking services for people who want to use their money consciously – from current accounts through to investments and savings. We only finance companies, organisations and projects that benefit people and the environment.
The Opportunity:
As Compliance Officer, you will report to the TBUK Head of Compliance and be responsible for providing second line (2nd line) advice, guidance, and assurance regarding regulatory risk exposure and TBUK’s compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
This role offers the benefits of flexible hybrid working, typically requiring 2 days per week in our Bristol office, with the option to work from home on the other days. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact within a values-led organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and mitigate regulatory risk using a risk-based approach, in line with TBUK’s risk appetite.
- Support and deliver Compliance monitoring reviews across TBUK, reporting on areas of risk and engaging with Group Compliance as required.
- Provide pragmatic Compliance advice and guidance, anticipating risks and offering clear solutions.
- Develop and oversee action plans in partnership with business units to address compliance risks outside of appetite, monitoring through to completion.
- Analyse legislative and regulatory changes, translating their impact into risk frameworks and policies, and providing timely guidance to the business.
- Produce Compliance reports and action plans, including analysis of risk exposure and mitigation for governance and Group Compliance.
- Represent TBUK Compliance at meetings and support local functions, confidently challenging and following up on concerns as needed.
- Maintain and develop frameworks, policies, and procedures, and support process improvements and projects as required.
What we are looking for:
As Compliance Officer, you will have a strategic and working knowledge of the UK financial services market, regulatory and industry bodies, and some relevant European regulations, including the FCA (specifically the Consumer Duty), anti-money laundering (AML) legislation and guidance, data protection, and some Banking compliance knowledge; a Compliance qualification is desirable, as is knowledge of the application of Artificial Intelligence in a financial services or Compliance context.
You will have a proven track record in a Compliance-related role within UK financial services, with experience in Compliance monitoring, project support, and providing technical advice and guidance, ideally in banking and investment products. You will be comfortable organising and overseeing your own work programme, and meeting targets and deadlines.
You will have strong attention to detail, an ability to interpret and communicate complex legal and regulatory information, and a pragmatic approach to risk and remediation. You will also be able to write and oversee a range of Compliance reporting and see tasks and projects through to completion.
What We Offer:
