The Opportunity:
We are looking for a First Line Risk & Resilience Business Partner to join our team at our Bristol Head office, reporting to the Head of First Line Risk & Resilience. In this pivotal role, you will support business areas in achieving their strategic objectives while operating within their risk appetite. By partnering with senior management, you’ll enable effective risk management, informed decision-making, and prioritisation of key initiatives across the business. This position offers significant scope to make a real impact and drive positive change, along with excellent opportunities for learning, development, and professional growth.

We offer flexible, hybrid working arrangements - typically requiring two days per week in our Bristol office, with the option to work from home on other days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and embed robust risk management practices, partnering closely with senior leaders and teams.
  • Provide expert guidance on risk identification, assessment, and control effectiveness, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present risk reports, contribute to governance meetings, and support action planning for risk mitigation.
  • Promote a risk-aware culture through training, communication, and ongoing engagement.
  • Act as a central point of contact for risk-related queries, collaborating with colleagues across risk functions and business areas.
  • Coordinate risk events management, issue tracking, and resolution, ensuring timely escalation where needed.
  • Support the delivery of key bank-wide initiatives, including regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Deputise for the Head of First Line Risk & Resilience as required.

 

What We Are Looking For:
We’re seeking a proactive and analytical individual with strong experience in financial services risk management. You’ll be a confident communicator with a keen eye for detail, able to influence others and drive best practice across the business.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a first or second line financial services risk-related role
  • Strong ability to identify, assess, monitor, and coordinate mitigation of business risks
  • Familiarity with risk frameworks, controls, and risk metrics
  • Good understanding of UK financial sector regulations and the wider risk landscape
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to build partnerships and guide teams in risk and control discussions using data-led insights
  • Understanding of what drives a positive risk culture, with the ability to influence others
  • Organised, with strong project delivery experience in a financial services setting

 

What We Offer

In return for your hard work and expertise, you will receive a competitive full time equivalent salary of between £53,000 and £58,000, depending on experience, plus access to our extensive benefits package, where most of our benefits are non-contributory.
