Job Description
Job Title:  ( Senior) Portfolio Transformation Consultant 1
Req Id:  914
Business area:  Corporate Development
Job Level:  Intermediate
Job Location (Short):  LA Driebergen-Rijsenburg, NLD

This role combines elements of corporate development, strategic finance, portfolio optimisation and transaction execution.

To strengthen our Corporate Development and Transformation capabilities, we are looking for a (Senior) Portfolio Transformation Manager who is eager to help shape and drive some of Triodos’ most strategically important initiatives. You get excited about being part of a high-quality, close-knit team while also frequently collaborating with various departments across the Group. You thrive in complex and demanding environments, and are enthusiastic about the prospect of applying rigorous analysis, strategic thinking and hands-on execution to transformation initiatives shaping Triodos’ future. This is a highly visible role where you will work directly with senior leadership and have the opportunity to influence decision-making, including at Executive Board level.

What makes this position unique is the opportunity to work at the intersection of strategy, finance, transformation and purpose, helping Triodos translate its mission into tangible actions and outcomes. Triodos is a frontrunner in ethical banking and global impact investing, and we need people like you to bring our ambitions to the next level.

How you will make a difference

You will act as a trusted thought- and sparring partner to the Head of Portfolio Transformation and help bridge strategy, finance and execution across the Group.

Your primary focus will include:

  • Drive the design, assessment, and execution of strategic initiatives (e.g. growth, efficiency, acquisition, divestment, or partnership topics), including defining hypotheses, evaluating options, and tracking impact;
  • Build, own, and review integrated financial and strategic analyses (e.g. business cases, portfolio performance, capital and balance sheet impact, scenario analysis) and translate insights into clear strategic implications and decision options;
  • Lead financial and strategic analysis within selected transaction processes (incl. target screening, valuation, planning), and subsequently manage execution thereof while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives;
  • Closely collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Strategy, Finance, Risk, Legal, Operations, Business Units) and external advisors where relevant, synthesising complex inputs into clear recommendations and results for senior leadership;
  • Evaluate and assess firm-wide strategic opportunities, organisational impacts and cross-functional dependencies, translating complex information into clear strategic choices;
  • Monitor industry, regulatory and market developments and assess implications for Triodos’ strategy, operating model and portfolio priorities.

What you will bring

Your unique potential and your values matter for us most. We look for people who are self-aware and who think in a holistic way, always conscious about their impact on more than just financial results.

To be successful in this role, you:

  • Have an execution mindset and the eagerness to take proactive ownership and independently drive strategic sub-agendas;
  • Apply analytical and critical thinking both strategically and tactically, as needed;
  • Have strong financial modelling skills, including the ability to interpret key P&L and balance sheet drivers in a banking environment, including relevant KPIs, KRIs and key ratios;
  • Are a strong communicator with good stakeholder management skills and commercial acumen;
  • Have excellent project management capabilities, being able to lead key workstreams and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders in high-paced, discrete and dynamic (transaction) environments;
  • Do not necessarily have all the answers, but have the problem-solving mindset to double down on cracking the puzzle where others may give up – also if it’s not your natural sweet spot, because you see it as a learning opportunity.

Furthermore, you will have:

  • An academic background in finance, economics or comparable fields;
  • Relevant experience from corporate development or M&A departments at other banks, investment banking, corporate finance, deal advisory, transaction services or management consulting for financial institutions;
  • Demonstrable experience with driving M&A transactions and/or complex strategic projects within the financial sector;
  • An antenna for organisational sensitivity; and
  • Professional proficiency of the English language (spoken and written).

Your future colleagues

You will be reporting directly to the Head of Portfolio Transformation and cooperating closely with Corporate Strategy, Finance and Legal predominantly.

The Portfolio Transformation and Corporate Strategy team together form Corporate Development, which currently consists of a highly diverse group of 6 people and is growing.

This is a Group position at the head office, meaning that, next to the support functions mentioned above, you may be working with any of our bank branches as well as Triodos Investment Management. You must be based in the Netherlands.
