Do you want to make a difference and contribute to creating a better world? Are you interested in developing your skills and knowledge, while putting your ideals to work? Join us, we are a frontrunner in ethical banking and global impact investing, and we need people like you to make change happen.

We believe that money can change the world for the better. In fact, our organisation was founded on this belief. Our mission is to create a society that protects and promotes the quality of life of all its members with human dignity at its core.

Currently, we’re looking for a Central Data Steward to join the Data Competence Center, an eager and dynamic team. The team is dedicated to delivering innovative data products (BI) and ensuring effective implementation of data governance.

How you will make a difference

You will help us to ‘change finance to finance change’, by maintaining robust data governance frameworks and managing data quality and documentation standards to ensure our data is and remains a trusted asset. You will facilitate data governance meetings, at operational and management level, to steer the organization to the next level of data maturity.

Here’s how you will translate data governance into action:

  • You will implement, and maintain data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • You will serve as the bridge between business teams and departments to define and drive accountability around data ownership.
  • You will oversee and enhance data quality, privacy and security across the organization.

  • You will facilitate data governance councils and working groups to drive adoption and awareness.

  • You will cooperate with the Risk & Compliance team on data compliancy with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, BCBS 239).

Your day starts by helping other Data Stewards come up with good definitions for terms related to Triodos Investment Management Products. Following that, you review the SQL query of a data quality automated check. In the afternoon, you participate in the Data Governance Board to discuss current data quality levels with Directors and assess the next steps and priorities; you also use this opportunity to present new Terms and Definitions to the Board to get them approved. Finally, you have a meeting with a co-worker on a data quality issue they face, to fully understand the parties and processes involved. You give advice on the approach to solving and/or getting the issue under control, using all the relevant data governance tools.
