Do you want to make a difference and contribute to creating a better world? Are you interested in developing your skills and knowledge, while putting your ideals to work? Join us, we are a frontrunner in ethical banking and global impact investing, and we need people like you to make change happen.
We believe that money can change the world for the better. In fact, our organisation was founded on this belief. Our mission is to create a society that protects and promotes the quality of life of all its members with human dignity at its core.
Currently, we are expanding our capacity to protect the financial system from misuse. As part of our Fit for Impact transformation, we are building a dedicated, outcome-focused unit responsible for the technology and capabilities that keep our bank safe from financial crime. We are looking for a Product Manager at Medior (Grade 16) or Senior (Grade 17) level to join this team on a permanent basis.
We are open to applications at both levels. Your grade placement will be based on the depth of your experience and our assessment of your fit. We will be transparent with you throughout the process about how we see the level.
How you will make a difference
You will help us to 'change finance to finance change', by leading the development of technology and data-driven capabilities that protect Triodos Bank and its customers from financial crime such as fraud and money laundering.
Leading a cross-functional product team focused on one of three financial crime Empowered Product teams – Detection, Alert Handling and Perpetual KYC – you will own the product vision and delivery from concept to impact. Beyond your own product area, you will collaborate closely with colleagues working on the other product areas, specialists on topics such as sanctions screening and fraud, and with engineers to ensure our processes remain compliant and effective.
Your key responsibilities:
- Define and communicate a compelling product vision for your financial crime domain, anchored in Triodos' mission, regulatory requirements, and the bank's risk appetite.
- Take end-to-end ownership from concept to launch — embedding product outcomes in business processes and ensuring that realised benefits are measured and tracked post-implementation.
- Manage and prioritise the product backlog, making data-driven trade-off decisions that balance business value, customer impact, risk, and time-to-market.
- Ensure your cross-functional product team has access to the right capabilities — coordinating with software engineers, testers, and KYC topic specialists.
- Drive alignment and change across a complex stakeholder landscape — working with compliance, legal, risk management, and country teams across the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and the UK to ensure products work at group and local level.
- Manage product budgets and business cases, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Stay ahead of the regulatory and threat landscape: translate evolving financial crime regulations and emerging financial crime risks into product requirements before they become issues.
- At Senior level: own key supplier relationships, take accountability for product governance and risk management, and coach Medior colleagues in their development. We have a senior position that will be hierarchically responsible for the co-workers in their product team.
What you will bring
Your unique potential and your values matter most to us. We look for people who are self-aware and who think in a holistic way, always conscious about their impact on society, environment, and the economy.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Translate a complex, fast-changing threat and regulatory environment into a clear product direction — keeping your team focused on outcomes while remaining genuinely responsive to new information.
- Build trust with diverse stakeholders — from compliance officers to software engineers — through transparent communication and a track record of following through on commitments.
- Own decisions and trade-offs with confidence, while actively creating space for your team members to contribute and grow.
- Bring a collaborative, inclusive approach to cross-border work — you understand that sustainable results in a multi-country bank depend on people feeling heard and aligned, not just directed.
Furthermore, you will bring:
- A minimum of 4 years (Medior) or 7 years (Senior) of product management experience within financial services or a highly regulated industry.
- Solid understanding of at least one financial crime domain: fraud detection, sanctions screening, customer activity monitoring, or AML/risk modelling.
- Experience working with compliance, legal, and risk management functions — you are comfortable navigating regulatory requirements and translating them into product decisions.
- Proven ability to manage a product backlog in an agile environment; certifications in Scrum or SAFe are a plus.
- Experience with data-driven product management: you know how to use analytics, dashboards, and outcome metrics to steer your product.
- At Senior level: demonstrated experience coaching product managers and owning supplier or vendor relationships.
- Familiarity with financial crime technology platforms (e.g. transaction monitoring systems, fraud rules engines, screening tools) is a strong advantage.
- Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a strong plus.
Your future colleagues
You will report directly to the Value Stream Lead of Financial Crime Protection, who sits within the KYC & Financial Crime management team of the bank and reports to the Group Director KYC & FC.
Your immediate team — your cross-functional product team — consists of a Change Analyst, software engineers, and embedded KYC topic specialists (in fraud, sanctions, customer activity monitoring, or risk modelling) and data & analytics specialists. You will also work alongside an Engineering Team Lead who coordinates across the product teams within the value stream.
Beyond your immediate team, you will collaborate with first-line risk officers, country KYC & FC Operations leads (in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and the UK), the KYC Knowledge Hub which sets the standards and quality frameworks your product must comply with, and group functions including legal, compliance, and procurement.
