Currently, we’re are looking for an Internal Auditor.

How you will make a difference

In this role, you can further grow your technical and personal skills. You report to the Head of Internal Audit Banking (UK Based), working closely with all members of the international team.

Take action

• Lead and participate in audit assignments in Belgium and across the Triodos Group. When necessary, limited travelling will be required, taking into account work life balance and ecologic impact.
• Stay close to the organisational (risk) developments through fostering relationships with business partners at Triodos Bank Belgium branch.
• Preparing high quality reports of audit findings and assisting management in defining actions with the aim of improving processes and internal control within Triodos.
• Proactively providing input and bringing internal and external analysis into the annual risk assessment to identify and plan audits for the following year and 3 year cycle.
• Provide management information and reporting on the audit processes, thereby ensuring they adhere to our professional practice standards.
• Be a subject Matter expert within the Group Internal Audit function, for example in a risk area (such as compliance, credit, operational) or in a digital area (such as data analytics, AI).
• Championing continuous improvement within the department and across the Triodos Group.
• Work in teams across the bank from different locations in a hybrid manner.
• Supervise and coach more junior co-workers in performing audit activities, both technically and with regard to the scope of work within the organisation, including providing feedback on co-workers to feed into the personal development plans.
• Act as a role model for Internal Audit and Triodos internally and externally, for example through personal and professional networking, speaking engagements and through professional and industry bodies.

The team
We are a team of 18 who work from Zeist, Madrid, Brussels, and Bristol. We report directly to the CEO and our structure follows the organization of Triodos Bank. Via the development of Subject Matter Leaders we are deepening our understanding of, and oversight over, key risk areas across the Group. This is complemented by: 

• Qualified (operational) auditor, or close to obtaining qualification with approx. 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Enthusiasm to apply existing and learn new skills and deepen a specialism such as compliance, credit, operational risks or data analytics, AI.
• Proven experience or wanting to lead audit assignments as well as building good relations with internal stakeholders.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively to prepare risk assessments, work programmes, perform audits and write reports.
• An organised approach to delivery on objectives.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and feel at ease to work closely as well connect with all internal colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
• Strong coaching skills for more junior team members.
• Committed to the values and mission to Triodos Bank.
• Experience in working in an international environment is desirable; willingness to travel and work in different cultural environments is a necessity (approx. 10 working days a year).
• Previous experience / familiarity with Teammate+ audit software is desirable.
